the IGUAZU Cascade Shower

Towards the end of the 19th century a new bathing fashion emerged in Europe: Spas with magnificent hotels, luxurious bathing establishments, where the rich and royal went 'to take the waters' in an ambience of Regal splendour.
This was the period of the rain-shower, the stand-up bath and the needle-shower.
Benificial properties were attributed to the high-pressure water jets when applied to the whole body.
The IGUAZU shower concept may appear to have its origins in this Victorian tradition, it is however, a very modern version exploiting a unique new process.
The system is the same: water spurting out of small holes in the encircling pipes.
With the IGUAZU shower however, the water cascades over you just like a waterfall
The IGUAZU cascade shower ...your own domestic tropical waterfall !!

The Iguazu cascade shower takes its name from a 2.7 kilometre stretch along the borders between Argentina and Brazil, which contains no less than 275 spectacular waterfalls.
The manufacturer of the Iguazu shower Simco, was inspired by two of these waterfalls: the Dos Hermanas (the Two Sisters) and the Garganta del Diablo (the Devils Throat), the one gentle and peaceful, the other raging and tumultuous.
The Iguazu shower is not a shower with powerfull massage jets instead it cascades over and around you like a waterfall.

The Dos Hermanas has 4 rings, and uses 23 litres/minute with all the rings turned on.
The Garganta del Diablo has 5 rings and uses 28 litres/minute with all the rings turned on.

Both showers are exceptionally high quality products with the following characteristics:

  • Stainless steel 316-L
This is a special and prestigious corrosion resistant chrome-steel alloy.
Because all the taps, caps, screws and tubing are made of this special steel Simco offers you a 5 year guarantee against corrosion.
Stainless steel 316-L allows you to install the Iguazu shower out of doors, in the garden or next to your swimming pool.
Stainless steel is easy to keep bright and gleaming.

  • Rings
The Iguazu shower allows you to select only those rings you wish to have on, this enables, amongst other things, children to fully enjoy the benefit of this showers unique characteristics.
A really pleasant experience is to sit on a stool placed in the middle of the shower with the warm water from just the lower three rings cascading up and over you.
The tiny holes in the rings are precision drilled using special lasers in order to guarantee a fine regular water jet.

  • Knobs and Handles
All the knobs and handles are beautifully designed to satisfy the highest ergonomic and esthetical specifications. They are all hand-turned by craftsmen from Letterwood, a precious hardwood with unique lateral patterns.
The knobs control the main water supply, the showerhead and the rings. It is possible to have the showerhead and rings on at the same time.
The handles operate the Simco designed taps that can be turned through 360 degrees and are always closed when horizontal. This makes the Iguazu shower equally user-friendly to left- or right-handed users.

  • Showerhead
The showerhead is a French product, which has been selected by Simco for its beautiful design and gentle shower flow characteristics.

  • Thermostatic mixing valve
By having your fitter install the thermostatic mixing valve which is included with this unit, between the Iguazu shower and the hot water supply you can improve safety by setting a maximum water temperature (112 degrees F).

  • Water pressure
The Iguazu shower operates from a minimum water pressure of 2.4 bar/35 psi.

  • Dissasembly
The Iguazu shower can be fully disassembled, which allows the rings and jet holes to be easily cleaned in areas where the water is hard.

  • Extra options
For a moderate extra cost Simco can within reason supply
Iguazu showers modified to special heights.
It is possible to embellish the ornamental caps withyour own (laser)engraved logos or designs.
